Ski area Feuerkogel-Ebensee

The Feuerkogel-Ebensee ski area is very popular with winter sports enthusiasts with a wide range of interests, as it offers a variety of pistes for different ability levels. In total, winter sports enthusiasts have around 10 kilometres of piste and 6 km of ski routes at their disposal. Children and beginners among skiers and snowboarders can let off steam on a total of 6 km of blue pistes and learn their first turns. Advanced skiers can put their skills to the test on a further 4 kilometres of piste, which are marked red (3 km) and black (1 km). The perfectly groomed pistes are ideal for fast carving. In addition to the classic-style groomed pistes, there are also ski routes with a length of 6 kilometres of piste.

The clearly laid out ski area lies between 443 m and 1,648 m above sea level and has a modern 6-seater chair lift, 8-seater gondola lift and t-bar lifts, making it an ideal ski area for families. On the ski area's high plateau, snow lovers can enjoy breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and several beautiful lakes in the valley.

Franzi's Drachenpark is also an absolute highlight for young skiers. The children's area with magic carpet, rope lift, wide practice slopes and exciting games lets little ski fans outgrow themselves in winter. They are supported by professional ski and snowboard instructors and the ski area's mascot, the funny Feuerkogel dragon Franzi. There are also fun pistes with colourful gates and poles in the Kinderland. The best conditions for learning to ski.

For ski tourers, there are several newly signposted routes with different levels of difficulty. While experienced ski tourers can tackle the more difficult routes, beginners can go on easy tours or take a ski tour accompanied by a mountain guide.

The ski area is popular with winter sports enthusiasts, not least because of its high reliability of snow. The region in the heart of the Salzkammergut usually brings snowy winters and thanks to numerous snow cannons in the Feuerkogel ski area, skiers and snowboarders can whizz down the pistes into the valley even in a season with little snow.

Après ski Feuerkogel-Ebensee

The village of Ebensee, at the foot of the Feuerkogel ski area, is not an après ski stronghold and is therefore ideal for families with children. However, this does not mean that there is no variety on offer after a day on the slopes. After a strenuous day on the pistes, winter sports enthusiasts can relax in the cosy ski huts on the high plateau, such as the Berggasthof Edelweiss. Gourmets can also visit one of the restaurants in Ebensee in the evening. In addition to culinary delights, Ebensee also offers a wide range of cultural activities. Those interested in culture can visit sights such as the Calvary Church Ebensee or the Catholic parish church Ebensee. There is also the Kunstraum gallery and the group studio of contemporary artists to discover.

Nature lovers can look forward to well-marked winter hiking trails. The region can also be explored on snowshoes. Hiking on unspoilt paths through snow-covered forests is an experience you won't soon forget.

After a strenuous day on the piste, however, many winter sports enthusiasts long for peace and relaxation. They will find what they are looking for at the Ebensee indoor pool. In addition to the classic-style swimming area, there is also a sauna world with two saunas, a steam bath, a fragrance chamber and a relaxation room.

Families with children also get their money's worth in Ebensee and the surrounding area. For example, you can whizz down selected slopes on a toboggan in the Feuerkogel ski area. The Hochsteinalm natural toboggan run, approx. 10 km from Ebensee and easily accessible by car, is also particularly popular. Toboggans can be hired from the Almgasthof Hochsteinalm for a fee. The run is 3.5 km long, covers around 230 metres in altitude and is guaranteed to put a smile on the faces of young and old alike. The natural ice rink at Vorderer Langbathsee is also very popular with families with children. This natural lake is one of the Upper Austrian lakes that freeze over in winter. Snow lovers can enjoy ice skating or Bavarian curling here. One thing is for sure: there's never a dull moment in Ebensee, either on or off the piste.

Snowpark Feuerkogel-Ebensee: Snowpark

Unfortunately, there is no snowpark for freestylers directly in the Feuerkogel ski area. However, winter sports enthusiasts who don't want to miss out on kickers, rails and various obstacles will get their money's worth in the Dachstein-West ski area, around 40 kilometres away. A total of 4 fun parks await freestylers here - for young and old, beginners and advanced riders.

In addition to the "Kids Run Annberg", the "Rookie Park Russbach" and the "Ötscher Kids Park Gosau", there is also the "Familypark Dachstein-West", which impresses with a very wide range of offers. There is a beginner and an advanced area. The beginners' area includes smaller kickers, the Rainbow Butterbox, the Kinked Butterbox and the Waves Butterbox as well as the popular Waverun. Advanced aerial acrobats, on the other hand, can let off steam on various kickers or jib and slide on a variety of obstacles such as the 9-metre-long curved box and various rails.
