Ski area Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel interconnected ski areas
The extensive and varied ski area is particularly suitable for families and children. The magic carpet, children's playground, ski schools and practice meadow offer ideal conditions for the little ones' first turns, while advanced families also get their money's worth on the ski area's numerous wide and sunny descents.
Beginners will find beautiful, wide pistes throughout the area. The practice area of the Angertal ski centre with the Gasti Snow Park is also located very close to Bad Hofgastein. Sporty descents can be found on the Stubnerkogel, among others. The greatest difference in altitude in Salzburger Land can be conquered on the "Hohe Scharte Nord" piste on the Schlossalm.
Snowboarders and freestylers can let off steam in the Snowpark Gastein and in the Funslope. There are specially designated routes for ski tourers.
In total, four ski areas await you in the Gastein Valley with the Dorfgastein-Großarltal and Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel interconnected ski areas, the Graukogel and Sportgastein, which make the hearts of all winter sports enthusiasts beat faster with their diverse and perfectly networked offer.
With the "Ski amadé" lift pass, you have a total of approx. 760 kilometres of piste (incl. ski routes) and approx. 223 lift systems at your disposal! The Gastein ski region is part of Ski amadé and is one of the largest and most beautiful ski regions in Salzburger Land with around 195 kilometres of pistes (incl. ski routes) and 39 lift systems. Thanks to the impressive altitude (up to 2,650 metres) and a large number of modern snow-making facilities, excellent snow conditions usually prevail here until spring.
Après ski Bad Hofgastein
The Alpentherme Gastein, a modern, alpine health and leisure oasis with six different themed worlds such as sauna, family and relaxation, promises relaxation after a successful day of skiing. Tobogganing on one of the night toboggan runs in Bad Gastein or Bad Hofgastein is great fun for young and old. In Bad Hofgastein you also have the opportunity to go ice skating, Bavarian curling, indoor tennis or riding Icelandic horses in the indoor riding centre. To explore the nature of the Gastein Valley, there are numerous winter hiking trails.
History buffs can visit the Gastein Museum or Klammstein Castle at the entrance to the valley, which offers an exhibition on the development of the castle. Families should not miss out on a visit to the fortress either: Ghost tours are offered here for little spooky fans.
Snowpark: Snowpark Gastein Bad Hofgastein
The Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel ski area is home to the Gastein Snowpark, which, like many other top parks in the Alps, is shaped by Q-Parks. The park can be reached from Bad Hofgastein with the Angertalbahn cable car and from Bad Gastein with the Stubnerkogelbahn cable car. Located at an altitude of around 1,900 metres, the snowpark offers countless obstacles for appropriate freestyling in three different areas.
In the spacious beginner area, various beginner boxes and four kickers await. In the medium area, advanced riders can put their skills to the test on boxes, up to 10 metre kickers, rails, tubes and an ingenious jib zone with pyramid and wallride. Finally, the pros of the scene can look forward to a challenging set-up in the advanced area with an 8 m picnic table, 12 m kicker and 7 m down-flat-down boxes as well as lots of other delicacies.
Guests who prefer to just watch have a great view of the action in the park from the "Stubneralm" located at the lower end of the park.
