Ski holidays Bregenz – Mountain sports and relaxation at Lake Constance!

Bregenz

Bregenz is the provincial capital and third largest city in Vorarlberg. It is an important port and cultural city directly on Lake Constance, which is an attractive holiday destination on many levels. With a population of around 30,000, it offers a relatively rich cultural programme, with art galleries, theatres and museums lining the "culture mile" alone. Every year, cultural festivals for music, dance and theatre delight an international audience, and magnificent buildings such as the State Library and Martinsturm, one of Bregenz's landmarks, characterise the unique cityscape. Its picturesque location directly on the lake shore and its proximity to smaller and larger ski resorts also make the city a popular starting point for nature and winter sports enthusiasts. The next mountain experience awaits board sports enthusiasts right on site at Bregenz's local mountain, the Pfänder, the most famous vantage point in the region. 240 Alpine peaks in three countries and a unique view over Lake Constance await you up there. The mountain, which is almost 1,100 metres high, is ideal for long winter hikes, tobogganing and family-friendly skiing and snowboarding.

Lake Constance

For many, picturesque Lake Constance is the epitome of a perfect relaxing holiday. It is located in the foothills of the Alps and therefore close to enchanting mountain scenery, but the largest part of its shore is on Bavarian soil surrounded by gentle alpine pastures. At 536 km², Lake Constance is the largest lake in Germany in terms of surface area and is made up of two lakes and a connecting river: Obersee, Untersee and Seerhein. The entire Lake Constance region even extends across four countries: Germany, Austria and Switzerland border directly on the lake, as well as the Principality of Liechtenstein. One of the advantages of the holiday region around this beautiful body of water is its versatility. Attractive towns such as Bregenz, Constance, Lindau and Friedrichshafen invite you to visit them, several castles and fortresses are reminiscent of ancient times and a large number of museums, galleries and modern architecture appeal to culture vultures. The proximity to the surrounding mountains invites you to go skiing and snowboarding, winter hiking or tobogganing. The Lake Constance region offers an attractive destination for active holidaymakers all year round with its two different sporting worlds on the water and in the mountains.
