Gaschurn

Gaschurn, with its population of just under 1,600, is located in a beautiful natural setting at 979 metres above sea level at the foot of Vorarlberg's largest ski area, Silvretta Montafon, with 141 kilometres of slopes (plus ski routes), which can be reached directly by gondola lift from the outskirts of Gaschurn. In addition, the district of Partenen is only four kilometres away, offering access to the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe, the highest cross-country skiing area in Vorarlberg and, thanks to its beautiful and unspoilt mountain landscape, a paradise for winter hikers and ski tourers. The village itself exudes a quiet cosiness and spoils visitors with a wide range of restaurants and high-quality cuisine. In terms of the townscape, emphasis has been placed on sustainable development, and the original naturalness of the established structure is not disturbed by hotel complexes. Of particular interest to culture lovers is Austria's first tourism museum, which provides information about ski tourism in the valley in a historical atmosphere.

Montafon

The 39 km long Alpine valley Montafon in Vorarlberg is mainly characterised by the small and traditional villages, and their very conscious interaction with the numerous natural monuments in this impressive mountain region. To maintain the natural surroundings and the local traditions, a club was founded called "bewusstmontafon" (conscious of Montafon) together with a brand logo, which labels all products originating from this region. The tranquil resorts in this traditional valley serve as hide-aways aside from the tourism hotspots, and besides many attractive ski areas, also provide a multitude of leisure time activities, such as winter and snowshoe hike, cross-country skiing, tobogganing and ice skating.
