Hinterstoder

The mountain village Hinterstoder is the idyllic centre of the Upper Austria holiday region Pyhrn-Priel. It is located at an altitude of 600 m in the Stoder Valley, approx. 140 km east of Salzburg. Hinterstoder is known for being the site of the Ski World Cup for the disciplines Giant Slalom and Super-G, but also for being a relaxing holiday location for winter sport enthusiasts of all kinds. The local mountain of Hinterstoder - the Hutterer Höss - offers family-friendly skiing fun for all ages with its World Cup run and fun pistes. Moreover, you will find various recreational activities in the wintry nature and snowy scenery of the Totes Gebirge. Winter sport lovers can get active with snow shoe hiking, tobogganing, ice skating and much more in the extensive Stoder Valley.

Traditions are valued and appreciated in Hinterstoder, which is why there are other traditional events apart from the classic Christmas market during the cosy Advent season. The local art location "Alpineum" organises various art exhibitions, as well as stage plays and concerts. After a day of skiing, the resort offers guesthouses, restaurants and cafés for a cosy conclusion of the day.

Winter sport enthusiasts will experience a well-rounded holiday in Hinterstoder.

Pyhrn-Priel

This beautiful holiday region in the southern part of Upper Austria, stretches across vast Alpine meadows and hills up to 2,000 m altitude, right up into the national park of the Limestone Alps - one of the largest forested areas in Austria. From the mountain peaks to the valley basins, which are formed by picturesque streams and rivers, Pyhrn-Priel turns into a glittery fairytale landscape in winter. The natural diversity of the region entices nature lovers and activity seekers alike, and hence forms the perfect place to practice winter sports. Day-tours can easily be realised from the centrally located resorts Windischgarsten and Hinterstoder. Two attractive family ski areas, approx. 100 km of winter hiking trails, over 120 km of cross-country trails and magnificent views over the surrounding peaks of the Sengsen mountains and the Tote Gebirge (dead mountains) make this the perfect destination for a relaxing holiday.
