The idyllic holiday resorts in East Tyrol are surrounded by the magnificent backdrop of the Venediger group, Lienz dolomites with the two largest mountains in Austria, and the natural landscape of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Enthroned in the middle of the 3 thousand metre mountain range is the impressive Großglockner (3,798 m), Austria’s highest summit, and Großvenediger (3,674 m) over the region of East Tyrol – mountain scenery second to none! Thanks to the impressive glacier, East Tyrol offers one of the most snow-sure ski areas in the Alps, which is also somewhat sheltered from mass tourism and chaos. Tourers will also appreciate the conditions around the Großglockner.
