Ski holidays Lofer - purely indulgent ski holiday!

Lofer

The family-friendly winter sports resort of Lofer is located in the middle of the Salzburg Saalachtal valley, against the stunning backdrop of the Loferer Steinberge mountains at an altitude of 626 metres. Even from a distance, the tower of the Maria Kirchental pilgrimage church, one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in the Salzburg region, catches the eye. The valley station of the Loferer Almbahn is easily accessible from all parts of the village, and free ski buses run to the gondola lift from some hotels.
With its winding alleys and beautiful squares, the village is ideal for those who are primarily looking for peace, relaxation and enjoyment. The traffic-calmed centre is also perfect for a leisurely day away from the slopes. Those who would like to take a trip to Salzburg can use the convenient Postbus connection.

The manageable family ski area Almenwelt Lofer is accessible with the lift pass of the same name and impresses with its 46 kilometres of slopes, which are mainly easy to moderately difficult descents and wide, flat alpine pastures. The area is particularly suitable for leisure skiers and beginners. In addition, the safety of young winter sports enthusiasts is a top priority here. Selected lifts are designed to be particularly safe for children. This allows the whole family to enjoy a stress-free skiing holiday.

Salzburger Saalach Valley

In front of the breathtaking panorama of the Loferer Steinberge mountains with the highest point of the Ochsenhorn (2,511 m) lie the cosy villages of Lofer and Unken. Nestled in the Saalachtal, the villages became popular winter sports destinations due to the close proximity of the Loferer Alm and Unken-Heutal ski areas. The region offers a magnificent mountain panorama as well as a diverse range of recreational activities with sports or culture. Families with children will especially love not only the gentle pistes, but also the resort's family friendliness. Cross-country trails and the network of winter hiking trails also invite you to savour the panorama.
