Gurgl - Obergurgl-Hochgurgl Ski area
The "Obergurgl-Hochgurgl" ski area is situated at the head of the Ötztal valley at altitudes ranging from 1,793 to 3,082 metres and offers 112 kilometres of slopes and 25 lifts. It’s no surprise that it has a reputation as the ski area in the Alps with the most reliable snow conditions – its high altitude and state-of-the-art snow-making systems speak for themselves! 99 per cent of the slopes can be covered with artificial snow, meaning the lifts are in operation from November right through to May! The "Top-Express-Gurgl" gondola lift provides an excellent link between the two areas – the 3.6-kilometre journey takes just around 9 minutes and offers a fantastic view of the surrounding glaciers!
Hochgurgl, with its wide, gentle slopes, is particularly well suited to beginners. Obergurgl is more challenging, but also features a number of blue runs. Experienced skiers will enjoy the run at the Hohe Mut in Obergurgl – the most challenging slope in the Ötztal, featuring mogul runs and a particularly steep descent!
For freestylers, there is a snow park at the Bruggenbodenbahn in Obergurgl, which, with two different lines and just under 20 obstacles, guarantees a fresh thrill and pure adrenaline. Numerous fantastic freeride areas – including those on the Wurmkogel and Festkogel, as well as on the Hohe Mut – also ensure plenty of fun and action.
The "Top Mountain Crosspoint" is well worth a visit. This modern building serves three purposes: it is the valley station for Section I of the Kirchenkarbahn, complete with a restaurant; it is also the toll booth for the Timmelsjoch High Road; and, with the "Mountain Motorcycle Museum", it is the highest-altitude motorcycle museum in Europe. The modern, multifunctional complex is architecturally modelled on a snowdrift.

The Familypark is now set up where the snow park used to be: The youngest shredheads and freestyle beginners will get their money's worth here. The snow park can now be found at the Steinmannbahn lift and has grown significantly in size as a result of the change of location! Events and contests round off the offer. There is also a fun slope in the ski area that is suitable for young and old.
