Ski area Silvretta Montafon
Thanks to the balanced division between blue, red and black pistes, everyone will find the right descent here: Beginners can enjoy wedeling on parts of the longest piste in the ski area (Hochjoch-Totale on Grasjoch), on which you overcome a difference in altitude of 1,740 m over a length of 12 km. The 2 km long "Piste 44", on the other hand, is reserved for professionals.
Safe deep powder snow and freeride areas also offer plenty of variety away from the piste - for example in the popular area on the Hochjoch - easily accessible! A highlight for freestylers is the Snowpark Montafon. The former 780-metre-long Nova Park fun park was relocated to the Grasjoch and significantly expanded for this purpose.
The ski area is particularly suitable for experts and freeriders. Under the motto "BlackScorpions - fancy a little fear sweat?", you can experience the seven most difficult and steepest descents here, which are definitely not for the faint-hearted!
Furthermore, a speed measuring track and a public race track with time measurement await you to record your personal best performances.
With the "Montafon Brandnertal WildPass" lift pass, skiers and snowboarders can even enjoy a total of 244 kilometres of piste (see ski region).
Après ski Silvretta Montafon
In addition, you’ll find a wide range of après-ski options spread throughout the ski area, from small ski huts to large restaurants. Here you’ll be offered a wide selection of dishes, from simple regional fare to culinary delights.
Away from the slopes, several toboggan runs in the Montafon beckon – including the longest night toboggan run in Vorarlberg, stretching 5.5 km. Night tobogganing also takes place every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at the Garfreschabahn. Afterwards, you can enjoy a hearty mountain meal at the T3 Alpenhotel Garfrscha and round off the evening in a rustic atmosphere (toboggan hire and dinner not included).
A worthwhile alternative to partying and tobogganing is snowshoeing in the Montafon. The region boasts numerous marked trails through snow-covered landscapes – from leisurely to challenging, there’s something for every ability level. Particularly popular is a circular route to Gasthof Rellseck, which takes around 3.5 hours to complete. Trails to the hunting lodge or towards Kristberg also offer impressive views. Those who are unfamiliar with the area or prefer to be accompanied can take part in guided snowshoe and winter walks.
