Cross-country skiing fans are in the right place in St. Johann! Around St. Johann, Erpfendorf, Kirchdorf and Oberndorf there are 170 km of cross-country ski trails of all levels of difficulty, 86 km of which are skating style.
The Hinterkaiserloipe is 13 km long and is only recommended for experienced cross-country skiers. Beginners and leisurely skiers can enjoy the Reithamloipe in the valley around the sports airfield. There is a high-altitude trail in Kirchdorf: the 3.13 km long Gasteig high-altitude trail. In addition, the 1.5 km long Lärchenhof trail in Erpfendorf and the 1 km long Kramerhof trail in Gasteig/Kirchdorf can be covered with artificial snow. There are also two illuminated trails.
