Ski holidays Harrachov - the loveliest place for champions!

Harrachov

Harrachov is the most well known winter sports centre in the Czech Republic and is situated west of the Giant Mountains and the Izera Mountains, near the Polish border. The town Harrachov (650 m) is situated on the Čertová Hora (Devil's Mountain) and is especially well known due to the continental and world cup ski-jumping championship, which was broadcast throughout Europe. The natural town was founded in the 17th century and became popular due to it's premium glass industry, even before it was discovered as an ideal winter holiday destination. Today it distinguishes itself by the ski-jump, its location in the beautiful Giant Mountains and the diversity of sports activities for all ages.

Giant Mountains

The Giant Mountains form the largest part of the Sudetes, which lie between Poland and the Czech Republic. The Sněžka (Snow Top) is the highest peak of the Sudetes and therefore also the highest mountain in the Czech Republic, with an altitude of 1,600 m. Typical for the region are the jagged stone rims and mountain lakes. Near the peak of Mount Medvědín you can find the source of the River Elbe. The winter sports resorts in the Giant Mountain National Park offer everything necessary for a successful skiing holiday. Here you will find well prepared pistes, modern lift systems, endless cross-country ski tracks on beautiful high plateaus and a variety of leisure time and aprés ski facilities, which don't have to hide their faces from their Austrian counterparts!
