Ski holidays Chamrousse – Olympic slopes at a smashing price!
Chamrousse
Chamrousse is situated at approx. 1,700 m in the Belledonne Massif and offers a gorgeous view of the approx. 30 km distant Grenoble and the surrounding mountains. The resort is known mainly due to the Olympic Games, but also hosts one stage of the Tour de France. Since the triple Olympic success of the Jean-Claude Killy in 1968 this ski resort has hardly lost any of it's fascination. But not only ski pros can find suitable descents here, the resort is just as good for beginners and snowboarders. The westward exposure of the town guarantees not only excellent snow but also a lot of sun in the afternoon and evening. A particular attraction is the sunset over the French lowlands, which causes the clouds and snowfields to glow red - hence the name Chamrousse, which means "red fields".
The resort stretches out a total area of 1,300 hectares on various levels. From the chalet village Bachat-Bouloud (1,700 m) located on the Plateau de l'Arselle you can take the bus to the other districts Roche Béranger (1,750 m) and Recoin (1,650 m). There you will find further amenities characterising a modern winter sports resort, e.g. cosy cafés, bars, restaurants and of course several shops to stroll around in. Our cosy chalet-apartments mostly offer a magnificent view of the French lowlands.
Belledonne
The mountains of the Belledonne massif form the western edge of the French Alps and stretch over 60 km from Grenoble to Chambéry. The picturesque peaks not only design a wonderful backdrop for the city of Grenoble, they are also an attractive winter sports destination. The Belledonne mountains offer some of the most exquisite French ski areas. Chamrousse for instance, the former host to the Olympic games in 1968, has ever since grown in popularity and has helped the French skier Jean-Claude Killy to write a piece of history.Travel Chamrousse
