Ski holidays Chamrousse – Olympic slopes at a smashing price!

Chamrousse

Chamrousse, located at an altitude of approximately 1,700 metres in the Belledonne massif, offers a fantastic view of Grenoble, approximately 30 kilometres away, and the surrounding mountains. The resort became famous primarily through the Olympic Games and as a stage location for the Tour de France. Since Jean-Claude Killy's triple Olympic victory in 1968, the ski resort has lost none of its fascination. But it's not just skiing enthusiasts who will find fantastic slopes here; Chamrousse also offers perfect conditions for beginners and snowboarders.

The western orientation of the resort not only guarantees good snow, but also plenty of sun in the afternoon and evening. A special attraction is the sunset over the French loWi-Fids, which lights up the clouds and snowfields in red. This phenomenon also led to the naming of the resort: Chamrousse means "red fields".

The resort covers a total area of 1,300 hectares on several levels. From the chalet village of Bachat-Bouloud (1,700 m) on the Plateau de l'Arselle, you can easily reach the other districts of Roche Béranger (1,750 m) and Recoin (1,650 m) by bus. There you will find other amenities that characterise a modern winter sports resort, such as cosy cafés, bars, restaurants and numerous shops to browse. Most of our cosy chalet apartments offer a fantastic view over the French loWi-Fids.

Belledonne

The mountains of the Belledonne massif form the western edge of the French Alps and stretch over 60 km from Grenoble to Chambéry. The picturesque peaks not only design a wonderful backdrop for the city of Grenoble, they are also an attractive winter sports destination. The Belledonne mountains offer some of the most exquisite French ski areas. Chamrousse for instance, the former host to the Olympic games in 1968, has ever since grown in popularity and has helped the French skier Jean-Claude Killy to write a piece of history.
