Ski holidays Morillon – quiet retreat in midst of great piste terrain!

Morillon

If you want to spend your winter holiday away from the tourist hustle and bustle but don't want to miss out on a wide range of slopes, Morillon is the place for you. It is considered an ideal retreat in the middle of the first-class Grand Massif ski area. The village stretches along the southern edge of the wide Giffre valley, a tributary of the Arve. From the Morillon 1100 district, you have direct access to the slopes above the village. Here, at 1,100 metres, a typical ski-in, ski-out village has been created.

The hamlets at 700 metres, on the other hand, still exude the original charm of a traditional French mountain village. The typical wood-clad houses are arranged around the village church of Saint-Christophe, which dates back to the 16th century. The ski area directly above Morillon comprises 30 kilometres of slopes, including numerous picturesque runs through pine forests. The village is home to Antoine Dénériaz, the 2006 Olympic downhill champion.

Grand Massif

The ski region Grand Massif, located in midst of the Upper Savoyards, characterises itself by sheer endless diversity. Surrounded by a wonderful mountain landscape, dominated by the Mont-Blanc mountain range in the south, history meets modern age in a very unique way. Be it quiet and traditional, over centuries developed villages or just a basic station - the region offers incomparable contrast. Beginners just as experts will find what they are looking for here. The selection of easy and intermediate pistes is huge and very impressive. But also away from the slopes the region has much to offer. The wonderful mountain landscape can therefore also be explored on numerous cross-country trails or panoramic hiking trails, whilst quaint huts and restaurants invite you in to try their specialities.
