Ski area La Forêt Blanche
The ski area is directly accessible via the individual districts of Vars and, with its predominantly blue and red pistes, is particularly popular with families and beginners. Young skiers can enjoy a leisurely descent towards Vars-Sainte Marie, via the 3.4 km Olympique, which starts at the summit of La Mayt. Furthermore, the sections around Mont Mayt are ideal for first-timers. Nevertheless, Vars also has a lot to offer for more demanding riders. A highlight is the high-speed track Les Vautours, which also hosts the traditional high-speed race Kilomètre Lancé in a rocky furrow below Chabrières.
For free riders, the terrain around L'Eyssina is a delight. Snowboarders will also find several fun parks all throughout the ski area.
Night skiing Vars
There is a small family-friendly night skiing area in the ski resort of Vars: the popular night skiing takes place during the French school holidays at the Ecrins T-bar lift in the district of Vars les Claux. The exact dates are to be found on the ski area operator's website.Après ski Vars
Sports and fun can be combined away from the piste with the diverse leisure time programme in resort: be it paragliding, a squash session or twirl on the ice rink - here there is surely something for everyone. A really special experience is also a dog-sleigh ride, a snow-shoe hike through the wonderful winter landscape or a session of ice climbing. For speedy descents on runners, there is the 1,027 metre long Caribou toboggan run.
Snowpark: Vars Park Vars
The area of "Vars" presents itself as a real fun park paradise and offers a total of four different snow parks. The "Vars Park" is divided into four different fun zones. Besides the "Kid Park" and the "Girly Park", where younger skiers can hone their skills on pink-coloured boxes, the other two zones offer their individual highlights.
A top location for capturing your styles and jumps on video is the "Totem Park". It resembles a Native American village and offers rails and totem poles made of wood waiting to be filmed and photographed in impressive ways. The great fun on offer in Vars is rounded off by the 8-hectare "Park de l'Eyssina", located at an altitude of 2,400 metres. There is also a boardercross course for those who want to battle it out in a direct duel.
If that's not enough, you can also let off steam in Waouland, the snow park in Risoul. The fun park is also the perfect place to relax in the chill zone after a long day's work, with laid-back music and a juicy BBQ!
