Ski area Freudenstadt – Kniebis

Several small ski resorts invite visitors to enjoy skiing along the 60 km Black Forest High Road between Baden-Baden and Freudenstadt. There are two lifts in the Freudenstadt area that provide skiing fun. About 11 km west of the city centre, the Freudenstadt-Kniebis ski resort is located on the high plateau, which is also crossed by the high road. The Lamm ski lift takes you to a varied winter sports area with around 1 km of slopes and numerous connected cross-country trails. The rustic Kniebishütte hut provides refreshments on site.

Freudenstadt and a total of seven other varied ski lifts, spread across the Bühl, Seebach, Baiersbronn and Gernsbach areas and offering a total of around 9.5 kilometres of slopes, are included in the "Schwarzwald Plus Card".

The Stokinger ski lift, an anchor lift that transports skiers to a manageable area at an altitude of 800 m, is located directly on the southern outskirts of Freudenstadt. From there, slopes ranging from blue to black levels lead down. Despite the overall very small ski area with around 1 km of downhill runs, beginners to advanced skiers will get their money's worth.

The largest ski area in the Black Forest, on the other hand, is located on the Feldberg, where a lift network provides access to around 63 km of downhill runs. However, this ski area is not included in the Black Forest Plus Card.

Night skiing Freudenstadt – Kniebis

Winter holidaymakers in Freudenstadt have the opportunity to enjoy popular night skiing nearby. Night owls are drawn to the small but excellent Vogelskopf night skiing area for skiing at night. It is located about 24 km from Freudenstadt, slightly off the Black Forest High Road, and offers an attractive area for advanced skiers with slightly steeper slopes. The slope and the drag lift are open daily from 09:00 to 22:00 At dusk, the floodlights are switched on so that the approximately 1 km long slope is completely illuminated. The beginner's run is about 600 m long and leads directly to the valley station. The forest run, also known as the "Autobahn", is slightly longer at 850 metres and is of medium difficulty.

Après ski Freudenstadt – Kniebis

Walking on cleared hiking trails, tobogganing on a 400-metre-long run, ice skating or snowshoeing – there is a wide range of activities on offer in and around Freudenstadt. A varied programme of ice skating, curling, ice shows and ice discos is offered at the ice rink in nearby Baiersbronn. In bad weather, you can go shopping in Germany's largest market square in covered arcades or visit the Panorama Baths with the whole family. In the "Pano", as it is called by the locals, a swimming pool with an adventure area, two slides with light effects and a sauna area await water lovers and spa fans.

In the evenings, the restaurateurs spoil their guests with hearty regional cuisine. In the town centre, the Turmbräu is highly recommended. The well-known brewery in the middle of the market square invites you to its cosy, rustic dining rooms and the pretty Turm-Alm beer garden, where party evenings are also held regularly. Specialities such as Black Forest venison sausages, Maultaschen made from venison from local forests or Buhlbach trout fillet are even served in the Kniebishütte in the ski area.

Snowpark Skilifte Hochschwarzwald: Snowpark

There are no snow parks in the small ski resorts in the northern Black Forest, such as Kniebis. However, Feldberg offers exciting new fun slopes for young and old alike. With rapid steep turns, lively wave tracks and several smaller jumps, the various fun slopes guarantee plenty of enjoyment.
