Ski holidays Dimaro – Historical mountain village in the Val di Sole!
Dimaro
Dimaro lies at an altitude of 766 metres in the sunny Val di Sole (German: Sulztal) in the Italian province of Trento. This hamlet, with a population of just under 1,300, is part of the municipality of Dimaro Folgarida and is situated on the northern edge of the impressive Adamello-Brenta Nature Park. Idyllically situated at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites, this is where the Val Meledrio begins, with its ancient customs house, from where the route to Madonna di Campiglio was once monitored. The centre of Dimaro extends around the 15th-century Church of San Lorenzo, the Palazzo del Dazio and numerous historic stone fountains. The village’s landscape is characterised by the River Noce and the Meledrio stream. Away from winter sports, visitors can, for example, visit the small local theatre. Above Dimaro, in Folgarida, lies the entrance to the Folgarida-Marilleva ski area, with 63 kilometres of slopes at altitudes of up to 2,180 metres. And on the other side of the mountain, there is also a direct link to the ski area of the fashionable winter sports resort of Madonna di Campiglio (155 kilometres of slopes at altitudes of up to 2,504 metres), which is also known as the venue for a spectacular night slalom in the Ski World Cup.
Val di Sole
In the "Valley of the Sun", the name says it all, even in winter: after all, this popular holiday region offers winter sports enthusiasts a record number of hours of sunshine and guaranteed snow until April. The valley in Trentino scores highly with these characteristics, not least thanks to its excellent location – surrounded by the three-thousand-metre peaks of the Brenta Dolomites, the Ortler Alps and the Adamello massif. The Val di Sole comprises almost 50 picturesque villages and hamlets. Seven winter sports centres offer accommodation, entertainment and, above all, direct access to all ski areas. From easy and intermediate slopes to freeride areas and snow parks to legendary World Cup downhill runs, there is something for everyone. With the "Superskirama" lift pass, skiers and snowboarders can enjoy unforgettable skiing fun on around 434 kilometres of pistes at altitudes of up to 3,000 metres!Getting to Dimaro
