The large municipality of Racines (German: Ratschings) is beautifully situated in northern South Tyrol. Spread across the Valgiovo, Val Racines and Val Ridanna valleys, this charming region lies at an altitude of between 950 m and 1,500 m. In terms of area, it is the largest municipality in the Wipptal valley and is considered by many nature lovers to be one of the most beautiful valleys in South Tyrol. The Wipp Valley stretches from Innsbruck to Franzenfeste and is a combination of eleven communities with completely different characteristics. The Wipptal also offers many opportunities for ski tours. The Brenner motorway offers good travel connections to Wipp Valley.
