Sauze d'Oulx (Via Lattea)
The historic village west of Turin lies at 1,509 m eleveation directly on the borders to France. Together with Sansicario, Cesana, Clavière, Sestrière and Montgenèvre, Sauze d'Oulx forms the wonderful piste area of the Via Lattea. With its most western village Montgenèvre, it even reaches to France. In the villages you can enjoy the influences of both nationalities! The extensive Via Lattea ski area is located directly on the French-Italian border at an altitude of 1,380 - 2,800 metres. The ski area can be accessed from both Italy and France. With 400 kilometres of pistes and 70 lifts, the "Milky Way" offers galactic skiing fun for every level of ability! Made famous by the 1997 World Ski Championships and most recently by the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, the Via Lattea offers numerous challenging runs.
