San Giovanni (Valle Aurina)

The largest resort in the Ahrntal, San Giovanni (Germany: "St. Johann im Ahrntal"), offers something for both enthusiastic winter sports fans and culture buffs. The resort received its name from Saint John the Baptist, to whom the impressive parish church is dedicated. The church with its mighty dome tower was built in 1783 - 1788 and is one of the most beautiful churches in Austria. Created by the popular fresco artist Joseph Schröpf, the frescos in the domes, as well as the oil painting behind the high altar are worth seeing.

The mineral museum with approx. 950 exhibits and a museum shop is also worth a visit. With its beautiful and intact setting, San Giovanni guarantees a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday.

Valli di Tures e Aurina

The Valli di Tures e Aurina (German: Tauferer Ahrntal) is a side valley of the Pustertal in South Tyrol and is particularly impressive due to its great diversity. The four ski areas of Klausberg, Rein, Weißenbach and Speikboden offer a wide range of skiing fun. If you are looking for more than just downhill skiing, the Ahrntal Valley is the place for you: snowshoeing, ice climbing, ice skating and tobogganing are just some of the activities on offer here. The valley is also a paradise for cross-country skiers, with around 51 km of groomed trails and 1,300 km of trails in the "Dolomiti Nordic Ski" network. The good value for money and the varied range of activities for children also make the Ahrntal a very attractive holiday destination for families.
