Ski holidays Grindelwald - ski resort with unmistakeable charm!

Grindelwald

The charming village of Grindelwald lies at the foot of the Eiger North Face, against the breathtaking backdrop of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains. The weather-beaten wooden houses lend this mountaineering village a special charm. With 204 kilometres of slopes and guaranteed snow up to 2,970 metres, the Jungfrau Top Ski Region offers everything a skier could wish for. Grindelwald and Wengen are traditional World Cup venues, and the Schilthorn (Piz Gloria) became famous as the location for a James Bond film. From Grindelwald, you can take the railway via the Kleine Scheidegg ski area to the Jungfraujoch (3,454 m), the highest railway station in Europe. The modern V-Bahn also provides access to the Eiger Glacier and the Männlichen. Top events such as the World Snow Festival and the Eiger Bike Challenge further underline the diversity and appeal of this Best of the Alps location.

Jungfrau Region

Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau are, along with the famous Eigernordwand, the hallmark and high mountains of the Jungfrau region. Situated in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, the area stretches from Interlaken to the peak of the Jungfrau Massif. An impressive mountain landscape and crystal-clear lakes attract thousands of tourists each year to the famous holiday resorts. The region is home to several treasures, such as the "Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn", with the longest ice flow in the Alps (22 km), which is a UNESCO world cultural heritage site. Just as famous is the restaurant "Piz Gloria" on the Schilthorn (2,970 m), which served as a backdrop for the James Bond Film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". The "Top of Europe" is the highest train station in Europe and is situated at 3,454 m. The Jungfrau region is especially known as an Eldorado for skiers, snowboarders and hiking fans.
