Cross-country skiers will find a total of around 140 kilometres of groomed cross-country ski trails in the immediate vicinity, with the International Trail between Cortina and Lienz leading directly through Sillian. In Sillian, there are 56 kilometres of cross-country trails - both skating-style and classic-style. Anyone who has ever travelled on the cross-country trails in Alta Pusteria - and especially in the Tyrolean Gailtal valley between Kartitsch and Untertilliach - will never want to go cross-country skiing anywhere else again. Reliability of snow is guaranteed thanks to a snowmaking system.
The new cross-country skiing and biathlon centre in Obertilliach is a popular training centre with cross-country trails and a shooting range, and not just for record holders. Guests can prove themselves in running and target shooting under supervision. The Obertilliach cross-country ski trail network has been awarded the cross-country ski trail seal of approval.
