Cross-country Maria Luggau

Everything is possible in Lesachtal: from classic-style cross-country skiing to Nordic cruising and stylish skating. The highlight for cross-country skiers in the valley is the "Grenzlandloipe", which runs along the Gail, over the Kartitscher Sattel and passes Maria Luggau. With a length of 60 kilometres, it is one of the snowiest trails in Austria. So skiing enjoyment is always guaranteed here. There is also the 2.5-kilometre Dr. Lomoschitz cross-country trail, which is suitable for beginners.

The closest cross-country trail to Maria Luggau is the "Sonnenloipe", which runs on a sunny plateau near St. Lorenzen. It is five kilometres long and quite varied with ascents and slight declines. If you want to get sporty, it's worth making a detour to Obertilliach to the cross-country skiing and biathlon centre. There you can practise your marksmanship at the shooting range or do a few laps on the sporty circuits.
