Information on cross-country skiing

50 km Cross-country trails (in km):

Cross-country skiing on Alpe d'Huez is just as good as alpine skiing. A total of 50 km of trails lead through the ski area, of which 22 km of trails are easy (marked blue) and 28 have an intermediate level (marked red). A total of five main trails surround Huez and the ski area. The longest trail is the high-altitude trail "Boucle de Lacs" on an altitude of 2,100 m. It can be reached via the DMC lift and, with a length of 16 km, leads past Besson mountain lake.

The "Rochette" trail is also known as "Auris circuit". Leading from Auris to Alpe d'Huez, it is easly manageable but also has intermediate passages. The highlight on the 6 km Brandes trail is a medieval castle ground. Nearby the pistes at the DMC middle station is the 10 km Poutran-trail which cross-country skiers can use to get to the "Hippodrome" practice area. The round trails can be used in both directions, and right-hand traffic applies on French cross-country trails. Equipment hire and cross-country ski lessons can be booked in Alpe d'Huez.
