The cross-country skiing area around Samoëns and its listed houses extends over two levels. The first is in the valley along the Giffre and leads to Fer à Cheval and the second is on the Joux Plane at 1,700 m. All in all, cross-country skiers are spoilt for choice in both areas, after all there are a total of 69 kilometres of cross-country ski trails available. The cross-country trails on the Col de Joux Plane are particularly beautiful.
