28 km Cross-country trails (in km):
In Grossarl/Dorfgastein and the surrounding area, cross-country skiers will find approx. 28 km of cross-country trails, most of which are classified as easy or moderately difficult. The 3.5 km long Mühlbachloipe, which starts not far from the Mühlbachstüberl, leads directly through Dorfgastein. It is easy to master in classic-style and skating-style and is therefore very suitable for beginners, but also for sporty skiers.
We also recommend the cross-country trail in Angertal, which impresses with its scenic highlights. The high altitude cross-country ski trail at Sportgastein, which is located at an altitude of approx. 1,600 metres, promises high reliability of snow and a beautiful winter panorama. A cross-country skiing centre with changing rooms, hire facilities and cross-country skiing schools can also be found here. There are floodlit trails in Bad Gastein and in the spa gardens of Bad Hofgastein, where you can also try out laser biathlon. There are approx. 40 kilometres of cross-country trails in the entire Gastein Valley.
