The Gastein ski region is part of Ski amadé and is one of the largest and most beautiful ski areas in Salzburger Land with around 195 kilometres of piste (incl. ski routes) and 39 lift systems. Due to the impressive altitude (up to 2,650 metres) and the large number of modern snow-making facilities, excellent snow conditions usually prevail here until spring.
There are four ski areas in the Gastein Valley: the Dorfgastein-Großarltal and Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel interconnected ski areas, the Graukogel and Sportgastein. With their varied, perfectly networked offerings, they make the hearts of all winter sports enthusiasts beat faster. Beginners will find plenty of wide pistes above Dorfgastein and on the other side of the Fulseck in Grossarltal to slowly approach winter fun. From the summit station on the Fulseck you also have a fantastic view of the Großglockner and Dachstein. Only accessible from the valley, but definitely worth a trip, are the challenging natural snow pistes on the Graukogel. Also interesting for advanced skiers is Sportgastein, one of the highest ski areas in the entire Ski amadé, which offers ski routes, deep snow slopes and mogul pistes - the perfect playground for pros. The interconnected ski areas from the Stubnerkogel to the Schlossalm is the largest connected ski area in the Gastein Valley and, thanks to its altitude of up to 2,300 metres, is also very reliable in terms of snow. Freestylers will find beautiful snowparks on the Stubnerkogel and Kreuzkogel, where experts can show off their skills.
The large, varied ski region is also particularly suitable for families and children. The magic carpet, playground, ski schools and practice meadow offer ideal conditions for the little ones' first turns, while advanced skier families also get their money's worth thanks to the numerous wide and sunny descents in the ski region.
In addition, Wi-Fi hotspots are available in the Gastein ski region so that you can stay in touch with your friends back home during your winter holiday and post your first photos.
