Ski area Fellhorn/Kanzelwand - Oberstdorf/Riezlern

Together with Oberstdorf, the southernmost municipality in Germany, the Austrian Kleinwalsertal forms a wonderful ski region with 130 kilometres of piste including ski routes and 44 lift systems, which opens up to you with the "Ski Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal" ski pass. The perfectly groomed pistes are particularly suitable for families and beginners, but experienced skiers will also get their money's worth.

A special attraction is the two-country ski area Fellhorn/Kanzelwand, which you can easily reach from Riezlern with the Kanzelwandbahn cable car. Here you can ski on a total of 36 km of pistes and ski from the Austrian Kleinwalsertal to the German Fellhorn ski arena. At the Kesslerlift next to the Kanzelwandbahn valley station, freestlyers will find the Crystal Ground, a snowpark with a chill-out sun deck and floodlights for night sessions. You have access to free Wi-Fi hotspots at all main stations of the Fellhorn and Kanzelwand cable cars as well as in all Das Höchste restaurants.

On the Nebelhorn, the highest gondola lift in the Allgäu takes you up to 2,224 metres. On a clear day, you have a magnificent view of 400 peaks between the Zugspitze and the Swiss Säntis at the summit station. Afterwards, you can ski down Germany's longest descent to the valley from the Nebelhorn to Oberstdorf. The Söllereck area is family-friendly and ideal for beginners, with predominantly easy to intermediate pistes. The Walmendinger Horn offers beautiful and varied descents for all levels of ability.

Night skiing Fellhorn/Kanzelwand - Oberstdorf/Riezlern

You can turn night into day, not only with après ski but also with night skiing in and around beautiful Riezlern. The Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal ski area, whose lift pass also includes the ski area around Riezlern, offers extended skiing fun on several floodlit pistes. All snowboarders and freeskiers can turn night into day in the brightly lit snowpark in Kleinwalstertal. Of course, you can also take a break on the pistes that are open for night skiing: The huts and snow bars invite you to take a break. The night skiing areas on the German-Austrian border are sure to make every skier's heart beat faster.

Après ski Fellhorn/Kanzelwand - Oberstdorf/Riezlern

As small and quiet as Riezlern is, it has plenty of après ski to offer. Right after the last descent, you can treat yourself to a coffee or another pick-me-up in the Cantina Vertical at the Kanzelwandbahn valley station. The sun terrace of the snow bar at the toboggan lift is a great place to enjoy snacks and drinks. One of the Walsertal's eight toboggan runs is also located here. Special sledges can be hooked into the toboggan lift so that tobogganists can comfortably reach the 500-metre descent.

There are numerous guesthouses to choose from for twilight shopping and a proper dinner. Steffi's Taverne, for example, serves international Kitchen in a cosy atmosphere with live music from time to time. An entertainment highlight is the "Tanzbar" discotheque, where DJs play a changing programme.

For those who prefer to spend a little more time in nature, there are hikes or ski tours in the Walser mountains or walks along the valley to Hirschegg or Mittelberg. The Breitachklamm gorge near Oberstdorf is a well-known and popular excursion destination, even in winter. A bridge path leads through the approximately 2.5 km long gorge, along which you can walk past icy cliffs, ice caves and frozen waterfalls. A fabulous experience for the whole family!

Snowpark Fellhorn/Kanzelwand - Oberstdorf/Riezlern: Crystal Ground Snowpark

Freestylers will also feel right at home in the Kleinwalsertal ski areas. The "young and wild" will find plenty to do in the "Crystal Ground" and "Easy Park". The aim of the park builders was to create a freestyle pros' paradise that meets the latest standards and unites newcomers and pros of the scene. They have succeeded in doing so, offering the best opportunities to see the ski area from the air with a jump or two.

The "Crystal Ground" is a popular snowpark for all skill levels thanks to its creative, monthly changing and jib-heavy set-up. Thanks to the camps, event series and sessions, there's never a dull moment here. When the snow conditions are right, the park with its floodlights is also waiting to be conquered in the evening. In the Fellhorn Funslope, kickers, fun boxes, tunnels, waves and banked runs are literally at your feet at an altitude of 1,750 metres.
