Ski area Plan de Corones

The ski resort around Plan de Corones (2,275 m), South Tyrol’s number one ski destination, has more to offer than just a bit of fun on the slopes with the "Kronplatz" lift pass. Thanks to numerous snow-making systems, snow is guaranteed from December to April, and 125 km of slopes between 973 and 2,275 m ensure an unforgettable skiing experience for young and old alike.

The Korer Bergbahn, with its 8-seater gondola, is particularly suitable for beginners, children and families. Here, a 100-metre-wide slope with a 160-metre vertical drop awaits. Plan de Corones is generally regarded as a very family-friendly ski resort with plenty on offer for children. At the summit of Kronplatz, for example, is "Croniworld", where parents can watch their children’s progress whilst enjoying a stunning 360-degree panorama.

Experienced skiers can put their skills to the test on the steep sections of the two valley runs, “Sylvester” and “Herrnegg”. Snowboarders can let off steam on the halfpipe. No other ski resort offers such variety and diversity as Plan de Corones! The area is also known as the venue for various sporting events, such as the Snowboard World Cup.

To ensure the perfect skiing experience, the ski resort is regularly upgraded: the ever-popular Sonnenlift has been replaced, completely refurbished and fitted with many new features such as heated seats and protective covers. The Miara cabins offer free Wi-Fi and the snow-making systems have been improved. In the 19/20 season, the non-detachable Rara chairlift was replaced by the modern “Skitrans Bronta”. Since its construction, it has held the title of the world’s shortest 12-seater gondola lift and connects the valley stations of the “Miara” and “Pedagá” gondolas.

For an even wider choice of slopes, you can upgrade to the "Dolomiti Superski" lift pass and choose from 1,200 kilometres of slopes, 450 lifts and 24 snow parks! In the "Kronplatz" ski area, you have access to free Wi-Fi hotspots at many lift pass sales points. If you choose the upgrade to the "Dolomiti Superski" lift pass, you will also have access to many more hotspots at lift stations and restaurants in the various ski areas.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To use the ski areas, you must have valid liability insurance that covers damage or injury to third parties. This can also be taken out on site for individual days. Skiing while intoxicated (0.5 per mille or higher BAC) is prohibited and is punishable by heavy fines. To reduce the risk of injury, wearing a helmet is compulsory for everyone (regardless of age, on all ski runs, in snow parks and on toboggan runs). Anyone who does not comply with the helmet requirement will be fined or banned from the slopes.

Night skiing Plan de Corones

Attention night-skiing enthusiasts! The Korer slope in Reischach is an attractive destination for your night-time skiing. At around 1.7 km in length, there are no limits to the fun you can have on the slopes at night. Every Saturday and Tuesday, you can ski on the floodlit slope from 19:30 to 22:00. Sledging is also permitted on the Korer slopes.

You can also hit the slopes at night in St. Vigil. The approximately 700-metre-long Cianross run opens for a special session for skiers and sledgers on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 20:00 to 22:00.

Another night skiing run, approximately 0.8 km long, can be found in Terenten. Here, on Fridays from 19:00 to 22:00, you have the opportunity to round off the day with some late-night turns on the floodlit run.

Après ski Plan de Corones

A holiday at Plan de Corones/Kronplatz means variety and fun for young and old! In the evenings, numerous après ski bars, discos and pubs ensure an exuberant atmosphere. For action-packed hours away from the pistes, there are countless activities such as ice climbing, snowmobiling, taxibob, snowshoe hiking, an indoor riding centre, a fitness studio, a natural ice rink with ice and broom hockey, Bavarian curling and natural toboggan runs. In addition, horse-drawn carriage rides, moon and torch-lit hikes, moonlight tobogganing, ski and snowboard races and trekking rides are organised regularly. Those who prefer a quieter pace will also find wine bars, restaurants and pizzerias as well as a cinema, library, theatre, concerts and wellness facilities.

Snowpark Plan de Corones: Plan de Corones Snowpark

The largest and most modern ski area in South Tyrol, the "Plan de Corones", offers everything an ambitious winter sports enthusiast could wish for, both in terms of panoramic views and piste conditions. Freestylers are offered two opportunities to experience a successful holiday with lots of fun on the piste.

In the "Easy Park", which is located below the "Belvedere" mountain station, the name says it all. Over a length of 800 metres and at an altitude of 2,230 metres, there is a line with an easy level of difficulty that provides an introduction to the world of freestyling. Kickers, boxes, rails, a truck tyre and a 130-metre-long half-pipe provide the necessary height.

The "Jib Park" on the "Korer" piste near the "Bruneck/Reischach" valley station offers another fun-filled adventure. Covering an area of 6,000 m², various obstacles invite daring newcomers to take on the challenge and perhaps soon join the ranks of the pros.
