Ski holidays Valdaora - wintry idyll at Plan de Corones

Valdaora

Olang lies at 1,048 m in the heart of the Puster Valley and consists of the districts of Oberolang, Mitterolang, Niederolang and Geiselsberg. The picturesque village at the foot of Plan de Corones is nestled between the Alps and the Dolomites: surrounded by the impressive Pragser Dolomites in the south and the Rieserferner Group in the north, a fascinating panorama awaits you here. There is a direct connection to the ski area from Geiselsberg. In winter, a free ski bus runs every 20 minutes from all districts to the Gassl valley station near Geiselsberg.

State-of-the-art lifts, short waiting times, very well-groomed slopes and fantastic views make the ski area one of the most beautiful in the Dolomites. The village is also well known to tobogganing enthusiasts, as Olang's modern natural toboggan run hosted the Tobogganing World Championships for the second time in 2000! In addition, there are numerous opportunities for active leisure activities, various restaurants and huts invite you to stop for refreshments, and you are sure to find a suitable holiday souvenir in the shops.

Plan de Corones

At the foot of the Plan de Corones (2,275 m), in the centre of the picturesque Val Pusteria, are 14 diverse and attractive South Tyrolean villages. Modern gondolas start from various stations and speed up to the peak, from which imposing 360-degree views unfold. Diverse sporting events take place here on a regular basis, e.g. the Val Pusteria ski marathons including the Valle di Casies run, the biggest sporting event in South Tyrol. 121 kilometres of piste, approx. 31 modern lifts, a half-pipe, as well as ample recreational and sporting opportunities and lively après ski ensure a good deal off piste! This ski area is also great for families, thanks to numerous facilities such as the "Croniworld".
